NO 431 label and manuscript F.B, 10/11/08, on reverse black oval REGISTERED 6AM JA239 IPSWICH receiver and Sydney transit, . Ex. Bromberg.

The stamp was issued only 1 month earlier. The manuscript “FB” is Frederick Barnett, the Assistant to the Resident Commissioner from 1908 to1914 and acted as the Chief Post Master. The On His Britannic Majesty’s Service envelope prepaid the 2d per 1/2 oz letter rate and the 3d Registration fee.
