Mailed from APO 742A, located at Templehof Air Base, Berlin, Germany paying the 5c air mail rate. On January 5, 1945 the Post Office Department allowed members of the Brazilian Expeditionary Forces to send mail through U. S. Army channels using U. S. postage. Two staples in envelope do not detract. A very unusual solo use of the 5c.
