UNITED STATES: Stampless; May 16, 1769 folded letter sheet bearing large red two line PHILA / DELPHIA origin ,and magenta 16 MA circular (Franklin?) mark on reverse, with “2/6” on front to Joseph Pemberton (1745-1782) to Westover Maryland, written to him by his father Israel Pemberton (1715-1779) and his mother Sarah Kirkbride (1715-1756) .
