Great Britain: 1840, Queen Victoria First Issue, 1d black Penny Black Plate 9, a very rare BLOCK OF FOUR of the famous collotype photographic forgery ,taken from the original “used” block in “the Dublin find”. A wonderful example of this famous forgery, almost certaint a photographic reproduction of a half sheet of 1841 1d red-brown plate 9. This photographic block was split and “tied” with fake Maltese crosses on piece, A wonderful item of which a handful have been recorded by Karl Louis.
