GERMAN SOUTH WEST AFRICA: 1898 10pg carmine BISECT :tied on German Reichspost postcard by KEETMANSHOOP 2/10/00 c.d.s., bearing red label “6”, on reverse 2 word message “serzlichen Gru?” (warm greetings),and Dr R.L. handstamp and ms J.W.47(?), no arrival marking . (Mi 7H)

In June and July 1900, 5Pf stamps were missing from Keetmanshoop, Namibia and could not be brought in on time . The postal assistant, Doms took Emergency measures and initially made do with the division of the 10pf stamps, which were only officially used on postcards.
