UNITED STATES: Banknote; 1939 1 green Prexy VERTICAL PAIR tied by red U.S.S. OKLAHOMA JUL 4 1939 c.d.s. on hand panted depiction of (we assume) of the coast of California. The Oklahoma was torpedoed 7 December 1941. 429 crew died, some survivors jumped off the ship into burning oil on water or crawled across mooring lines. An attempt was made to salvage her in 1947, but she sunk under tow back to California .
